This Sunday is...ahem...Father's Day!!

I know I usually post on Thursdays, but this is super important.... This Father's Day is Sunday June 17th,  yup THIS Sunday!

I don't know about you guys, but my Dad has always been my rock. From candy smuggler to solid shoulder to cry on, my Dad just gets me. My Mum always says my Dad and I are the same. This is something I am really proud about, especially because my Dad is one of the smartest people I know!

One of the best things about Dads is that they a generally very happy with whatever you get them. They would be completely humble if you handed them some half-chewed gum. I don't recommend doing that! I do recommend one of our customizable Gift Certificates! People don't realize how much Dads love photos. My Dad has pictures of our family everywhere and every time I bring one of my family photographs over for my parent's it mysteriously disappears from the main level and can be found in a special place in his home office. I bet you can guess what I am getting my Dad this year!

Father`s Day is this Sunday!!

I was going through my week this morning trying to be proactive (Ha!) when I noticed that this Sunday is Father`s Day... WHAT!?! So, what to do... no seriously...  what do I do? I desperately hit Michaels for excellent crafty ideas (which they have plenty of) only to be disappointed.  Jeff (my husband) wouldn't really want any of it.  Sure, it's adorable, but what on earth is he going to do with a framed piece of chalkboard? Now, I am a woman of a "certain age" and to give this gift to my own Dad seems a little too childish, don't get me wrong, I'm still totally cute and his only girl but my drawings are not going to cut it!

Then it hit me... I'm a Professional Photographer.... duh! For my own Dad I will be doing a personalized desk calendar (which he LOVES ) and for Jeff I will put together an incredibly thoughtful collage for him to go with the awesome art my kids will create for him!

Father's Day Photographic Memories in Georgetown!

Yesterday was Father's Day.  This can be both an exciting and painful day for many. In my case I am just trying to take it all in, and remember it.  I am flooded with childhood memories with my father (and I am lucky enough to still have him around) as well as trying to get my brain to record all the happenings with my children and their father. The morning of Father's Day I played the dutiful wife and got up with both kids (yes I am usually the fortunate one who gets to sleep in an extra 30 minutes and drool all over both pillows while my husband gets up and starts the kids off on their day).  I allowed him to sleep in for an hour and a half before bringing him breakfast in bed, pancakes and orange juice which I had help making from our 4-year-old.  We ran upstairs, Quinn carrying a present he made for Jeff at school (a cute key chain and card), me carrying a tray and trying to convince our 2-year-old (who was wearing her bother's shoes and hat) to join us in wishing Daddy and Happy Father's Day.  He awoke to the complete bliss of both kids jumping on his head and screaming.  After opening his present from Quinn I gently placed his much earned breakfast in front of him, as he reached for the fork Quinn's hand shooting with bullet speed picked it up first and started digging in! Savannah then grabbed his orange juice and drank it all.  After laughing our heads off for five minutes I quickly ran downstairs a made more much-needed pancakes and brought them up for a picnic in bed.  So, although this wasn't a picture perfect Father's Day with doting children it was OUR Father's Day... and having two full of pancake happy kids to share it with made it even better.  To top everything off Quinn and his Dad went to the Georgetown Classic Car Show and had a blast.  Find photographs below.
