A big milestone- Tristan turns 6 months old!

Over the last several months I have really enjoyed getting to know Jenny and her wonderful family. Photographing people over a period of time is one of the most exciting parts of what I do. On our first meeting we really hit it off and our relationship continues to grow every time we see one another. I started off photographing Jenny when she was pregnant.  During that session I discovered that both her and her husband J have the best sense of humour. Then, about a month later I finally got to meet Tristan, their new baby boy. Tristan really is something special, all you have to do is look at him and you will find yourself smiling. Tristan has just turned 6 months old.  He's smiley, happy and easy-going, just like his Mom and Dad. I couldn't be happier to be part of this awesome milestone.

I am so thankful to be allowed to be involved in such an important part in this family's life and celebrations. I can't wait for our next session when he turns the big O-N-E! A little teaser for you, it will involve soccer! Stay tuned and watch him grow with me!

Newborn Session with Luke!

I usually ask my clients to prep their babes before our sessions.  Things like, giving them a nice warm bath before the session, holding off on feeding until coming to our studio etc. and I told Luke's Mom the same thing. She knew better though, and after she arrived with Luke passed out in his car seat she was confident he would stay that way.  You know what? She was right.  He slept for our entire session waking only after two hours of shooting to pose with his big sister.  My jaw may still be hanging open. It's very rare that a baby will sleep from the moment they arrive until nearly departure time.  Believe me, I am not complaining! Here are some photos from my session with Alanna and her wonderful family while little Luke was still in her belly-

Boy or Girl? Rachel has her second baby!

It's a bird, it's a plane, no.... it's a baby GIRL!!!! So I'm not one for suspense, but it's the whole reason you clicked on this post and I didn't want to disappoint you or anger you by making you wait! That's right folks, Rachel had her second baby and also her second girl.  It was a little like deja vu doing this session because the adorable baby Lily looks exactly like her big sister, Raelynn, did as a newborn. This forced me to be even more creative and do something really different from what I had previously done with baby number one.  I always try to do something different, and I always check what I did previously to avoid anything being repeated, unless it's actually suggested by my client. This one was a big success!

I had such a wonderful time photographing this sleepy little girl, and I can't wait to watch her grow. I have been so lucky to hold and create memories with both of Rachel's babes, and being there for all their milestones makes me feel so privileged and like one of the family. Let's just say that Rachel better continue to have more children because I can't get enough of her awesome family!
